Thoroughbred Mixing System

Unit:
Description

The Thoroughbred Mixing System helps you say yes to custom colors without adding days to the order. Select the online formula, weigh the finished Thoroughbred Mix & Match inks, blend them, and make a test print. The ink-to-ink process is easy to teach because there are no raw pigments to disperse.

Production Benefits:

  • Mix Pantone®-simulated colors in your own shop
  • Begin rush orders without waiting for custom ink to ship
  • Mix only the quantity needed for the job
  • Repeat customer colors with formulas measured by weight
  • Get strong opacity, a soft hand, and stretch from the finished ink
  • Use lower curing temperatures to reduce heat stress on many garments

Our Take:

Think about the next customer who needs an exact school, team, or brand color on a tight deadline. Instead of stopping the schedule, you can mix the ink and begin testing. Save the approved formula, drawdown, and press settings. That record makes the reorder easier and gives your customer a reason to come back to the shop that already knows their color.

Press Notes:

  • Recommended squeegee: 70 durometer
  • Typical cure target: about 270°F; confirm the full ink film with a Thermolabel
  • Use enough deposit to support opacity and bleed resistance
  • For polyester, test the correct bleed-blocking underbase and check the print again after it rests

Stir each mixing color before weighing and follow the formula exactly. Make a small test batch before a large production mix. Formulas are available at www.onestrokeinks.com, and the Mixing System Tour video shows the full color-mixing process.

* Note: For best results, always test print and cure on the actual fabric before production.
