Thank you for visiting the new One Stroke Inks blog. I feel the best way to introduce everybody to the new blog is to discuss soy-based inks. Soy inks are very new to the industry and there have been many questions and concerns regarding the differences between the soy-based and standard plastsiol inks.
The Soymax Series of inks will print, flash, cure, clean up, and feel like a standard plastisol ink. From a production standpoint, there is really nothing you need to change on the press. Use your favorite emulsion, squeegee, and screen mesh that you are used to. It is that simple. The differences you may notice with the soy-based inks include a softer hand, creamy viscosity, and excellent elasticity. Soymax is soft enough to rival plastisol towel printing inks and stretchable enough to print stretch cotton and blends of lycra or spandex. In short, this is a high performance screen printing ink for use on cotton, poly/cotton, 100% nylon, and stretchable blends in between.
Many will look at the fabrics Soymax Series inks will print on and realize 100% polyester is not included in the list. For the polyester printing, we have developed the Soymax Poly Series. These inks have increased bleed resistance to help defeat the polyester dye migration problems. Soymax Poly Series is not for screen printing cotton or cotton blends.
Please give us your opinion of the Soymax Series inks if you have tried them. Also, if you have not tried them and you still have questions, give us a call or post your questions below.
